1. How old are you? 23
2. What do you do for a living? Receptionist/Office Assistant
3. What made you decide to take a leap of faith and do a boudoir session?
Well, Alyssa and I have been trying to do a shoot together for about, 2 years. It first started with wanting to have her photograph my ex fiance and i for engagement pictures and then our wedding. That failed and i started seeing that she was getting into boudoir, and i reached out to her saying that i think it would be amazing for me considering my lack of self confidence and all that i had gone through, i basically wanted to feel good about myself. After trying and failing, OVER and OVER again, whether with money or scheduling, we were FINALLY able to work something out and me finally decide that i was going to invest in myself, and an added bonus to be able to get something for my boyfriends birthday in September 😉 To put it mildly, it was time.
4. Did you have any obstacles or fears about boudoir?
Obstacles were more like making excuses, i’m not happy with my body at all, and so i used that as my “obstacle” that and my work schedule. Fears, oh yeah, tons, i am so critical of myself that i think other people are constantly judging me as well. I feared that boudoir was not for me because i’m not skinny.
5. Was the session different from what you expected it to be?
Only in the way that it was ten times more of a confidence boosting experience then i had originally thought it would be. It was relaxing, a little bit of a work out, and loads of fun! I also loved how i could feel myself really get in to it and feel more and more confident with each second that passed by, i definitely did not expect my nerves to give up.
6. What was your favorite part about the entire experience?
Favorite part?! Is that a joke? ALL OF IT. Start to finish! Hearing Alyssa scream and giggle and say how in love she was with the shots she was taking was definitely a high though, and getting major compliments from her whole team. I was on cloud nine
7. How did you feel when you saw your photographs?
I was speechless, i had tears in my eyes a few times. I can not believe what Alyssa captured and i can not get the images of myself out of my head.
8. Any advice for women interested in their own boudoir session?
DO IT! Whether you are 90 pounds or 300, it is the best gift you can give yourself. It is ok to feel nervous, Alyssa will put you at ease RIGHT AWAY. I would also suggest to choose your outfits based off of what YOU are most comfortable in and what your personality/style is, it makes it 100 times easier.
9. Did anything change about the way you see your own beauty as a result of the session?
Simple, i am gorgeous no matter what. I can always have a laundry list of things that i wish were different or don’t like, but at the end of the day it comes down to how i portray myself and what i can bring to the table, from the inside.
10. How did you like working with Alyssa Michelle and her team?
Like? More like LOVE! I was getting compliments from start to finish, everyone was so amazing and happy and fun! It was the best experience i’ve had in a LONG time, and i would do it over and over!
Thank you Alyssa and team!!!
